Today’s Feature: Horton Hears a Who, 20th Century Fox, 2008
Memorable
Quote: “I meant what I said and I said what I
meant. An elephant's faithful one hundred percent” -Horton
Biblical Connection: If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13 (NASB)
Horton
the elephant has a problem. He can hear voices coming from a speck of dust on a
flower. No one else can hear the voices. Nor do they believe that anything can
possibly be living on a speck. However, Horton is not crazy, and the voices are
not fictional. That tiny speck, is home to the Whos of Whoville. And since
their tiny world is smaller than a speck of dust, Horton takes it upon himself
to protect them and find a place where they can live safely. He risks everything in the process. Despite
everyone else’s doubts, Horton stands by his famous motto, which is our quote
for today.
Although
we may not be as tiny and defenseless as the Whos, it can sometimes feel like
we are. There are times in our life when we may feel alone, afraid,
unprotected. But God is with us always. His infallible word, the Bible is full
of the truth of His faithfulness. No matter what we think or feel, God is
faithful, steady and unwavering in His commitment to us. It is His nature to
remain faithful and keep his word to those he created. From the dawn of time,
when He laid the foundation of this earth, it was never part of His plan to
leave us alone to fend for ourselves. He will always be there for us, to
protect, guide, comfort and love.
He
is 100% faithful. Nothing and no one will ever make Him otherwise.

Prayer:
Heavenly
Father, thank you for never leaving me. Even though I sometimes feel alone, I
believe you are with me always. Your faithfulness to me at all times is a wonderful
gift of love and I am grateful.
Application
Steps:
Do you have trouble believing that God is faithful
even when you are not? Why or why not? Spend time in prayer, written or verbal,
and bring these doubts to light. Ask God to help you to remember His promises
are true no matter what we think or feel about ourselves.
Using an online source or your Bible concordance,
look up scriptures about God’s faithfulness and write them on index cards or
post it notes. Keep them somewhere visible and read over them whenever you feel
alone.

ReplyDeleteSomeone actually just shared with me using the same analogy with Horton and the little universe on the flower - however, he explained to me how we really are like a little speck. If we consider the earth, the heavens, the galaxies, the expanding universe - all created for us as mankind - that's how particular God has uniquely situated every little detail in our lives.
Thanks for sharing!
Josey, I'm finally getting out my notes from ReWrite so I checked your site. Is this the first of your movies series?? I like it.
